Well, we are currently off on an adventure overseas and I can’t wait to share more with you about the trip (check out my Instagram for photos in the meantime).
Though I’ve always been a big fan of travel, I must say that (like everything else) I’m always getting better at it with practice.
My first big trip abroad had me lugging over-packed bags filled with items I thought I needed while I frantically searched for the mode of transportation I thought I had booked correctly…okay, maybe that still happens…but like I said, I’m getting better with practice.
Take my packing job for example- this time around, I ditched a few things I knew I wouldn’t use and instead found space for things like healthy gluten free snacks for the long flight, bags of mint tea for settling the stomach, and lavender oil to help us fall asleep when trying to adjust to new time zones.
One item I’ll be adding to the list for our next adventure? This simple, DIY hand sanitizer.
As a pocket-sized travel companion, this gem makes navigating the inevitable inconveniently unsanitary situations (airplane bathrooms anyone?) a little easier, plus it only requires a few straightforward ingredients that you already know how to pronounce.
In the process of fine-tuning your own packing routine like me? Why not add this to your list too?
- 1 Tbsp aloe gel
- 2 Tbsp rubbing alcohol
- 8-10 drops lavender essential oil
- 15-20 drops tea tree essential oil
- Mix the aloe gel, rubbing alcohol, and essential oils together until well combined
- Add a small amount of water if needed to reach desired consistency
- Use freely as needed
